The Powers Inspiration Fund
Many people have a burning desire to be of service to others. They have a heart to “pay it forward” and use their talents for the good of their community. They may have a creative idea on how to do this but lack the resources to get the project up and running. Or maybe they started a project and need a mini-grant to keep it going. They may be teenagers or retired seniors. Could this be you? If so, The Powers Inspiration Fund is here to potentially help with your vision.
The Powers Inspiration Fund is designed with lots of flexibility to help those with a burning desire to be of service. The goal of the Fund is to give mini-grants of up to $1,000 each to 20 or more individuals or nonprofit organizations each year. The fund is very open to hearing about lots of creative ideas on how you can make our community stronger, healthier, and happier. All ideas are welcome. There are no specific categories for funding. No project is too simple, small, or outrageous. The important factor is YOU. Your burning desire to serve.
Who can apply?
This fund is available for individuals and for non-profit 501c3 organizations serving those living in Hillsborough County. You do not need to be a 501c3 to apply. If you are under 18, we will request that you list an adult who will be assisting you with the project.
The Application Process
The Application can be completed at any time of the year. The process is designed to be completed within 30 to 45 days.
- Pre-Application – Complete the pre-application form under the APPLY tab on the website to let us know about you and your project. This is designed to give us a brief and general idea of your work. Hit the SUBMIT button at the end of the pre-application form and wait for The Powers Inspiration Fund to reply. This will determine if you are invited to apply for funding. All pre-applications are reviewed the first week of every month.
- Application and Zoom interview – If invited to apply for funding, you will receive a second Application form with a few more detailed questions and a request for a zoom interview with the funders.
- Final Response – The funders will let you know of a decision within 30 days of the final application.

The Powers Inspiration Fund is open to a wide range of ideas. The goal of the project must be to serve others in need.
